Accessing Moffett Library Services

Your MSU Texas username and password allow you to access all library services, including requesting and renewing books, placing interlibrary loan requests, and accessing online resources. Your Mustangs ID serves as your library card; the Mustangs ID number is your library barcode number.

Class Instruction

The librarians at Moffett Library serve all programs, faculty, and students at all levels of scholarship. In line with the library's mission, we provide class and small group instruction to help build skills in finding, accessing, evaluating, and using information sources.

Course Reserves

Faculty can place textbooks and other course materials on reserve at the circulation desk for students to access. These items can be library materials or items provided by you. The length of the loan can be set to your preference, such as:

  • 1 day checkout (DVDs, additional readings)
  • Library use only, 2-4 hour checkout (required texts)

Off-Campus Access

The easiest way to access library resources from off-campus is to connect through Moffett Library's website. When you connect to an online resource through links on the library site, you will be asked to sign in with your MSU Texas username and password. Your library account and the databases can also be accessed directly through links on the MSU Texas portal.

Working with faculty and librarians, the Collection Development Librarian strives to provide the best possible research resources for the use of students and faculty. Interlibrary Loan & Document Delivery

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) provides MSU Texas faculty, students, and staff with access to items that are checked out or not owned by Moffett Library. Faculty can also request digitized copies of articles and book chapters from our collection through Document Delivery. ILL and Document Delivery requests can be placed directly through the library catalog, via the form on your library account, or from many of the online databases.
