Cost:

  • Interlibrary Loan is free to authorized users
  • ILL makes every attempt to borrow items from libraries that do not charge fees. However, some libraries do charge fees for items. The patron is responsible if any charges are assessed by the lending library. (Please note: We are able to obtain articles from libraries that charge for copies if the patron is willing to pay the fee for the article. This fee typically runs between $9-11, occasionally upwards of $15 or more)
  • ILL items lost or damaged will be charged to the patron

Delivery Time

  • ILL requests are normally processed the next business day after received in the ILL office
  • Allow at least 1 to 2 weeks for item delivery.
  • Articles typically arrive within a week, but may occasionally take longer.
  • Exact delivery date is determined by the response of the lending library. This cannot be guaranteed, so it is important to request items for research projects well in advance
