Description

APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN!

The Library once again is offering research awards to recognize MSU undergraduate students who demonstrate skill and creativity in using library resources (books, research databases, media, etc.) to write research papers. 

Eligibility:

Any MSU Texas undergraduate who has written a research paper for a class during Summer 2023, Fall 2023, Spring 2024, Summer 2024, or Fall 2024 semesters.

Description & General Guidelines of the Award:

  • Recognizes undergraduate students who wrote a paper of outstanding quality
  • Must be written for a previous academic year class (may include independent study courses, research programs and study abroad courses too)
  • From 8-20 pages including works cited or an annotated bibliography
  • Written in an approved academic style e.g. APA, MLA, Turabian, etc.
  • Must make use of appropriate library resources based on the topic or subject matter

Awards:

  • Awards and funds will be announced at the Student Awards Banquet.
  • First Place- $400. Funds received through e-refund and student receives certificate at banquet.
  •  Second Place- $300. Funds received through e-refund and student receives certificate at banquet.
  • Third Place- $150. Funds received through e-refund and student receives certificate at banquet.

*For group winners, total prize amount will be divided equally*
