Library Research Award

Moffett Library is proud to offer research awards recognizing MSU undergraduate students who demonstrate exceptional skill and creativity in using library resources for their academic research papers.
 
Eligibility:
Open to any MSU Texas undergraduate student who has written a research paper for a class during the Spring 2025, Summer 2025, or Fall 2025 semesters.
 
Deadline for Submission:
All submissions must be received by December 19, 2025.
 
Description & General Guidelines of the Award:
  • Celebrates undergraduate research papers of outstanding quality
  • Must be written for a previous academic year class (may include independent study courses, research programs and study abroad courses too)
  • From 8-20 pages including works cited or an annotated bibliography
  • Written in an approved academic style e.g. APA, MLA, Turabian, etc.
  • Must make use of appropriate library resources based on the topic or subject matter
  • Both individual and group-authored papers are eligible for submission
     
Awards:
  • Winners will be announced at the Student Awards Banquet.
  • First Place- $400. Funds received through e-refund and student receives certificate at banquet.
  • Second Place- $300. Funds received through e-refund and student receives certificate at banquet.
  • Third Place- $150. Funds received through e-refund and student receives certificate at banquet.

*Note: For group winners, total prize amount will be divided equally*
