Access to Online Resources

Moffett Library is open to the MSU campus and surrounding community. Access to the online journals and databases is reserved for current MSU students, faculty, and staff.

To Access Moffett Library's Databases:

Go to the MSU Portal and sign in.
Choose "Library Databases" from the menu on the left side of the screen.
Click the link at the top that says "Click HERE for Library Databases" on the next screen.

Note: You will remained signed in to the databases until you close your browser.

The aim of the DOAJ is to increase the visibility and ease of use of open access scientific and scholarly journals, thereby promoting their increased usage and impact. In short, the DOAJ aims to be THE one stop shop for users of open access journals.

Folger Digital Texts: Shakespeare’s Plays, Sonnets, and Poems
Folger Shakespeare Library, home of the world's largest and finest Shakespeare collection, offers high-quality digital texts of Shakespeare's plays, sonnets, and poems. Includes free downloading of the source code for noncommercial Shakespeare projects.
Gale OneFile: Communications and Mass Media
Communications and Mass Media Collection provides access to academic journals and magazines focusing on all aspects of the communications field. Key subjects covered in the database include advertising and public relations, literature and writing, linguistics, and more.

Fine Arts and Music Collection provides access to scholarly journals and magazines that support research in areas including drama, music, art history, and film-making. The database emphasizes full-text content for publications included in the Wilson Art Index and RILM bibliography.

Kanopy is a streaming video resource with a broard collection of over 26,000 films on every subject imaginable and from leading producers such as Criterion Collection, The Great Courses, New Day Films, HBO California Newsreel, and more. Kanopy’s website makes it easy to watch, share and discuss films across campus.

Searches all the databases supplied to the library by Gale. Search for any term or phrase and find articles from 1,000 of magazines, journals, newspapers and books along with videos, images and podcast content.
ScienceDirect College Edition This link opens in a new window
Elsevier's ScienceDirect College Edition contains over 2000 full-text peer reviewed journals. The journals cover behavioral & social sciences, health & life sciences, and physical sciences from 1995 - present.
MSU has access to the following collections: Health & Life Sciences: 1,200+ journals, Physical Sciences: 700+ journals, Social & Behavioral Sciences: 450+ journals.

Provides a search of scholarly literature across many disciplines and sources, including theses, books, abstracts and articles.

First time using Google Scholar with Moffett Library? Do the following to enable “Find It @ MSU Texas” links and see full text you are entitled to via Moffett Library subscriptions:

1. Go to Google Scholar and login to your Google account
2. Click Settings (from the menu in top left corner)
3. Click Library Links (left navigation menu)
4. Type Midwestern State University and click the Search Button
5. Check the box for Midwestern State University – Find It @ MSU Texas. (Please note: The previous Google Scholar link named 'GetIt@MWSU' will no longer work, uncheck its box to disable)
6. Click Save
